Situated just 10 km / 6 miles south-west of the city and within the Bouguenais area, Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE) is a single-terminal facility, providing air travel for some two million passengers per year. Nantes Airport is also close to Bouaye, La Chevrolière and Les Sorinières, and has grown to become an essential gateway into and out of the Pays-de-la-Loire region and the biggest air facility of its kind in the whole of western France.

A modern and well-equipped facility, Nantes Airport provides a good selection of passenger amenities and services, boasting prominent airlines. These include Air France, British Airways and also Ryanair, which has recently announced a new service to and from Bournemouth, in south-west England.


Road access to the airport is available via the Porte de Grand-Lieu interchange and also the Nantes ring road, and the journey time from downtown is a mere ten minutes. Regular shuttle services connect the airport with the city, while taxis are on hand for those looking for door-to-door transport to a variety of destinations, such as Carquefou, Coueron, Orvault and Rezé.
